Getting here
Finding the old exchange
We are on the river side of East Street, in the tall building with the original lettering across the parapet and a green awning below it.
There is parking along the street and a council car park behind the block that is free after six in the evening.
The entry hall doors stay open until the last lot. If they are shut, the side door under the awning is not.
Driving
Council car park behind the block, free from six.
Walking
Five minutes from the riverside, flat the whole way.
Getting home
The office will call you a car whenever you ask.
Bookings
Before you ring the office
- How late can I book for tonight?
- Up to the second lot, and later midweek.
- Do you take a deposit?
- Never. A name and a number on the board is the whole arrangement.
- Can I call a card table?
- Three of the ten, for up to eight players, held until the second lot.
- What about a large party?
- Up to twenty with a month's notice, and we will call you a lot of your own.
